We are a roadtrip family through and through, but let’s be honest: I wouldn’t pass up any trip! Whether we’re traveling via car, train, or plane, there are a handful of things I do to prepare and items I pack to ensure we have a successful trip, every single time. If you’re trying to up-level your traveling experience, here are 5 tips for a successful trip.
5 Tips for a Successful Trip
Map Out Your Stops
If you’re traveling by car, map out all of your stops ahead of time. While there are times you need to make an unexpected stop, having an idea of where you will stop in when will make a huge difference! It not only makes the trip more efficient, but you can also keep everyone happy and manage expectations.
Always Have Some Cash on Hand
I never have cash on me and honestly, it’s something I’m working on. You never know when you’re going to need a few dollars or need to give a tip, pay a toll, or even to make a purchase at a rest stop.
Wear a Belt Bag
While filling up your favorite tote bag or backpack with everything you think you might need, wearing a belt bag will help you not over pack and keep your hands free. Plus, a belt bag is big enough for all of the essentials that you would need immediate access to!
Put Together a Toiletries Bag
I love putting together a pouch of essentials for the bathroom and for general self care while traveling. It makes it easier for me to access everything I might need! In these pouches I always include wipes, hand sanitizer, hand cream, anti-chafe balm, floss, and a mini hair brush.
Create a Playlist
There’s nothing better than popping your headphones in on a travel day and instantly being put in a good mood. Whether it’s 90s hits, country, throwbacks, or top 40 hits, put together a playlist of all of your favorite songs to enjoy all day long!
