3 Ways to Clean with Lemon

There are very few things as refreshing as the smell of a lemon! This scent can be found in a lot of different products, but often times it’s accompanied by harsh ingredients. What if I told you a simple lemon can be used for some of the most basic cleaning in your home!?

Here are 3 simple ways I love using lemon to clean my home:

  1. Cleaning the Microwave

Fill a bowl with 1 cup of water. Slice a lemon in half & squeeze juice into the bowl. Place both halves of the lemon into the bowl, as well. Microwave until the water in brought to a boil. Let stand for about 5 minutes, & then easily wipe away any food or stains in the microwave.

2.  Cleaning Food-Stained Containers

Squeeze the juice of a lemon into a stained container. Add in about 1-2 tbs of baking soda. Mix & scrub the paste to the stained areas of the container. Let it sit overnight. Rinse with hot water and soap the following day. Watch the food residue and stains disappear!

3. Cleaning Stained or Smelly Clothes

Squeeze the juice of a lemon directly on to damp, stained clothing. Add in about 1 teaspoons of salt to the area & let sit. Wash on cold & watch the stains disappear! For fresher & brighter whites, add freshly squeezed lemon juice to your wash cycle!
