Let’s start at the top (literally!).
DAINTY HOOP EARRINGS
Hoop earrings come in a variety of sizes from small in diameter to extremely large. I highly recommend adding a pair of dainty hoop earrings to your jewelry collection. This is because hoop earrings, especially in a smaller ones, are a classic jewelry item giving your overall look a little glam boost stud earrings don’t. This jewelry piece is so timeless the style will last you for a lifetime. Plus, these earrings are suitable for every season.
Blue Nile has a large variety to choose from depending on your personal to include gold, silver, and hoops incrusted with precious stones or diamonds (they are GORGEOUS!). I opted for the gold hoops since I gravitate towards gold jewelry and I love how I can wear these earrings with sweatpants or with this beautiful bell sleeve dress! BONUS STYLE TIP: If hoop earrings aren’t your thing opt for a stud earrings that are bar shaped. This gives the illusion of length (like it’s dangling from your ear) while the earring is snug against your earlobe! I love the Pink Sapphire Pave Bar Stud Earrings in 14k gold.
A DELICATE, STATEMENT NECKLACE
Now you’re probably thinking “what the heck?! I thought delicate pieces weren’t supposed to make a statement.” To that I would say yes, and no. When purchasing quality jewelry items I always recommend starting your collection with dainty, delicate pieces and then incorporating pieces that are more bold.
When looking for a high quality necklace to purchase look for a delicate item with a subtle statement to it. For example, the Smile Bar necklace in 14K gold is delicate, but the bar design is thick enough to wear to work or to go out. The bar in the middle of the necklace is a subtle statement and perfect for wearing during every season!
If the bar was too thin, then you may only wear it for work. If the bar was too thick, you may only wear the necklace to go out with your friends. The subtle statement prevents the necklace from appearing too boring and allowing you the ability to style this piece endless ways.
All the Blue Nile necklaces are both delicate and make a subtle statement. This is the ideal (and very difficult to achieve) balance for high quality pieces you want to purchase and wear year after year.
AN EMBELLISHED RING
When you get engaged your left hand is forever adorned with a gorgeous diamond and band to match. Why can’t your right hand have just as much fun?!
When purchasing a high quality ring look for a delicate ring (usually 1.3-2.0 mm) adorned in diamonds or precious stones! If you’re a diamond’s girl opt for a delicate ring embellished with tiny diamonds, and on a finger that isn’t your ring finger on your right hand.
If you want to to mix things up a bit try a different metal than your wedding band and embellished with a precious stone. My favorite from Blue Nile is their Sapphire Eternity ring in 14k gold (I can’t stay away from the gold!).
Or, if you really want to add some add some glam to your right hand, look for a ring featuring a precious stone. My favorite piece from Blue Nile is the Black Onyx Beaded Ring in 14k gold. I love how simple and elegant the design is of this piece. If this ring is more your style I highly recommend opting for a precious stone in a neutral hue, such as an onyx, because you can wear this stone for every season and it’s timeless.
