Hello, Gorgeous! It’s September and officially fall season (well, it is to fashion bloggers!). In celebration of my favorite season of the year, the beginning of everything pumpkin spice flavored, and the holidays just around the corner I thought I would share with you ladies 5 reasons why you totally need to try out a cape this fall season.
1.) GIVES INSTANT MOVEMENT TO ANY LOOK
When the temperatures start to drop- your outfit requires more layers. This means creating movement in your look is hard to accomplish. Movement to any outfit is always a good thing because this breaks up your outfit and looks aesthtically pleasing- even when you’re simply walking down the street to go get your daily PSL fix in for the day (think of it like you’re floating!).
2.) MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE A SUPERHERO
Let’s be honest, anytime someone says the word cape you automatically think of a superhero (or maybe that’s just me!). Wearing a cape can instantly elevate your confidence because who doesn’t want to feel like a superhero walking out the door to conquer your day at work?!
I recently spoke at a fashion blogger event in Seattle called Style Lab and decided to wear a dress with a cape on it! Why you may ask did I choose this dress of the thousands out there? The reason was because I was terrified of public speaking and wanted to feel like my own version of a superhero- so I found a dress with a cape on it and that extra boost of confidence got me through my speaking portion of the event!
3.) MODERN TWIST ON A CLASSIC JACKET
A cape jacket, such as the one that I have on in today’s post, is a modern twist on a classic coat. The lines and silhouette are flattering and chic, while the cape element instantly elevates this jacket and gives this coat a fresh new look!
4.) ADDS A FUN ELEMENT TO ANY LOOK
When fall and winter come around it is easy let your personal style get in the way of staying warm with all those layers. Adding a cape is the easiest (and warmest!) way to add a playful element to your look that you can’t achieve with your classic winter coat.
5.) THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WARMTH
Fall is the season when temperatures simply can’t make up their minds about wanting to stay warm or cold. A cape coat is the perfect solution to these fluctuating temperatures. This is because you get warmth from the heavy material of the jacket while having your arms mostly uncovered!
It’s the best of both worlds and also allows a ton of flexibility so you don’t have to keep taking your jacket on or off throughout the day! Keep your cape on as part of your overall look!
