WHY THIS TIP IS GREAT

This style tip is perfect for women who

– Don’t want to take a trip to the mall to try on a crop top

– Don’t want to spend money on a trend that may be a style “don’t” next season

– Want to create a crop top out of a shirt they didn’t know they could restyle

– Learn how to transform your clothes into a totally different look

If you fall into one or more of these categories (I totally fall into at least two!) then a simple style trick is the perfect alternative!

THE CROP TOP TRICK

Here’s the fun part!

1.) Go into your closet and choose a top you would like to wear as a crop top. I recommend using a tunic since they have extra fabric, but a regular t-shirt will work perfectly too!

2.) Take the top you have chosen (you have it on at this point!) and tuck the back of the shirt under to the desired length you like. This step is important because you are hiding excess fabric you don’t want for a crop top.

3.) As you are folding the fabric in the back start to pull the excess fabric towards the front so your shirt fits snug against your back.

4.) With the excess fabric start twisting and then create a knot. You can pull the knot off the the side for a more carefree look!

BONUS TIP: If you don’t want to have a knot in the front simply reverse the process to have the knot in the back of your top. For a bigger knot use a baggier top, and for a smaller more discrete knot use a tighter fitting shirt!

THE BEST BOTTOMS FOR A CROP TOP

This style post wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t share the best bottoms to pair with a crop top! The bottoms you choose depends on how much stomach you want to show.

I recommend pairing your newly formed crop top with high waisted skirts or jeans so a tiny sliver of skin is showing. Showing just the tiniest bit of skin is chic, modern, and alluring!
