3 Steps to Picking The Perfect Statement Coat

There are two types of coats you have in your closet: your trusted coat that always keeps you warm and your statement coat! Your statement coat is the one you put on and feel like a million dollars!

Don’t have a statement coat yet?! Perfect! Today I am going to share 3 steps to picking the statement coat perfect for your style!

1.)FIGURE OUT YOUR “MUST HAVE”

When looking for a statement jacket there is going to be one aspect of this coat you are specifically looking for (this is your focal point.) I call this your “must have” and your “must-have”can include:

– Color. Maybe you want a coat that is all pink! So the “must have” aspect of your statement coat is this feminine hue.

–  Material. You could be entirely flexible on the color of the coat, but you are looking for a certain material. These materials could include wool, tweed, cashmere, etc.

– Texture. Textures could include fuzzy (this is what I was looking for in my jacket!), pleats, fringe, etc.

2.) PICK YOUR COAT STYLE

This step is fairly simple. Once you have your “must have” component selected you choose the style of coat you want! There are so many coats on the market to include:

– Peacoats

– Trenches

– Dusters

– Motocycle Jackets

– Rain Coats

The list could keep going! For example maybe you are looking for a pink (step one) raincoat (step two!).

This second step helps narrow down all the choices out there!

3.) DON’T LIMIT YOUR SEARCH TO WHAT YOU KNOW

Finished the first two steps?! Yay! Now you are read for the last and final step. You just put together a pairing of key words search engines LOVE. Your search is simple and to the point.

Unless you already know a retailer that sells the exact coat you are looking for, this step is crucial. Don’t limit yourself to a store you already shop at. Go to your favorite search engine and type in your keyword such as “pink raincoat” or “wool peacoat.”

I search the WHOLE internet (us Blush Babes are ruthless when it comes to finding amazing styles!).
