Hello gorgeous! Today I’m sharing how to make a sweatshirt look chic in just three simple steps. Typically “sweatshirt” and “chic” aren’t two words you would put into the same sentence, but as Blush Babes we love our style as much as we love our comfort!

CHOOSE A STATEMENT SWEATSHIRT

When picking out a sweatshirt look for a crew neck with a statement color, print, fabric, or quote (like I have in today’s post!). The reason for this style tip is because you want to take a traditional leisure item and make it pop! This isn’t your typical Nike sweatshirt- I recommend using a bright pattern or a sweatshirt with embellishments on it!

BONUS STYLE TIP: The best type of sweatshirt for this look is a crew neck and not a hoodie. This is because a hoodie adds more material to your overall look. In order to make this outfit appear chic you want a more streamlined silhouette.

OPT FOR A SKIRT

A skirt is the perfect way to elevate your overall look! The rule of thumb for this style tip is: the shorter the skirt the more movement you can have and the shorter the skirt the less movement you can have.

This means if you are wearing a shorter skirt, like I am in today’s post, your bottoms can have a looser fit because it won’t interfere with the silhouette of the outfit, but the longer the skirt you’ll want to opt for a pencil skirt since this gives a very classic silhouette and helps streamline the overall appearance of your outfit!

BONUS STYLE TIP: If your sweatshirt isn’t too bulky try and tuck your sweatshirt into your skirt. That way you can wear almost any skirt you like since this will give your waist definition and create a streamlined, chic appearance to your overall look!

LAYER WITH A BUTTON DOWN

This style tip is the most important because this tip really elevates your overall look. Add a button down under your sweatshirt to make the sweatshirt appear more formal. This takes your sweatshirt from athletic to totally chic!

When you layer your button down make sure you pop the collar so it lays on top of the sweatshirt like I did in today’s post!
