I recently went blonde this summer and while I am in LOVE with the color- my hair was no longer at its healthiest. My ends were a little damaged, and my blonde tresses needed some serious hydration. I not only wanted healthy, hydrated hair but I also wanted to maintain my bright blonde and not have my hair turn brassy (all you blondes out there know what I am talking about!). I browsed the internet, and also talked with my hairstylist, about the best products to put into my hair. I finally narrowed the products down to five which I will share with you all today!
Disclaimer: I go to an Aveda salon since I believe they have the best customer service and the best natural products. This doesn’t mean I didn’t look at other products when deciding which ones to choose but I ultimately choose all Aveda products since I truly believe they are the best. So here are the products I use and I am being SO honest when I say my hair had a full recovery (and stayed blonde) after using these for about a month or so!
Shampoo- Damage Remedy Restructuring Shampoo. I love this shampoo so much! I never really thought the type of shampoo you put into your hair really mattered because I assumed conditioner was the most important product. I was so wrong. This shampoo has quinoa protein as well as a coconut based cleansing formula (I love anything with coconut in it!). This shampoo is made without sulfates, silicons, or parabens. I realized all the shampoo in my shower had sulfate in it and as soon as I switched over (after just one use!) my hair felt softer and healthier. I highly recommend this shampoo to anyone. It also has a five star rating on the Aveda website!
Conditioner- Blue Malva. The conditioner step in my hair care routine is how I keep my hair from looking brassy. I usually wash my hair twice a week, (three times if it’s an especially gross hair week for me) and every time I wash my hair I use this conditioner. This product is called a “purple conditioner.” The purple color deposits into your hair color and combats the blonde from turning brassy! When I first heard about this I was not a fan- I mean, purple conditioner?! I promise you it works wonders and my hair does not turn brassy. This product also doesn’t use silicons, parabens, or sulfates in it’s ingredients.
Hair Hydration- I talked about my leave-in conditioner in this blog post here! To further my hair hydration I also use a dry conditioner which I put into my hair while it’s (cue drum roll!).. dry. On days that I am not washing my hair I will apply a few drops of Aveda’s Dry Remedy Daily Moisturizing Oil. This product is silicon-free and leaves my hair soft and shiny. I love using this since it really helps to lock in hydration every single day instead of the days when I wash my hair.
I know this is a longer post than normal, but thank you so much for stopping by Blush & Camo!

Thank you so much! The hair hydration can be for any hair color:) I hope you had a wonderful day!

hydration is so important! Im naturally blonde but add highlights and even that can make it dry so I try to use less heat and add a hydrating mask once or twice a week. I used purple conditioner before but it bleached out and killed my hair but yours sounds more gentle than mine! x

Oh my goodness, that sounds horrible? Do you know what brand it was? This one definitely doesn’t do that:). Right after getting a full highlight my hair turned SO dry. These products really do help! I hope you have a wonderful day doll!
