4 Tips On How To Style Tennis Shoes

PICK YOUR TENNIS SHOES

First, and most obvious, you want to pick the tennis shoes you want to wear! If you own more than one pair of these athletic shoes you’ll want to gravitate towards a pair that includes both neutrals and some color (like I have on in today’s post!). If you only have one pair and they are completely neutral, or full of color, don’t worry! I am addressing how to style ANY pair today (inset emoji hands here!).

OPT FOR DARK JEANS

When putting this outfit together it’s best to pick out a pair of black or grey jeans. You want to use this style tip because regardless of your shoe color the black or grey denim will help to counterbalance any color you own. Whether you have black tennis shoes or neon this tip will work with just about any color!

BONUS STYLE TIP: A darker jean will also automatically make your outfit instantly chic instead of a light wash which is more of a casual vibe.

CHOOSE A T-SHIRT

In this look you want to chose a graphic t-shirt or classic print tee (like stripes) and tuck it into your jeans. This is because a t-shirt is casual but when you tuck a shirt into your bottoms (I did a post on this here!) it instantly makes the look dressier.

The dark jeans adds an element of chic while the t-shirt and tennis shoes makes the look more functional and comfortable.

ADD A LONGER COAT OR CARDIGAN

To finish this look add a duster cardigan or a knee grazing coat! You want to incorporate this style element into your look because this layer is a bit dressier which counterbalances the casualness of the shoes and t-shirt, but matches the dressier vibe of your dark jeans. If you are wearing a bright colored shoe I recommend picking a neutral toned coat to tone down the pop of color!

  1. I love the tips you’ve shared on wearing sneakers in a more chic, streetstyle, way! I agree, wearing them with darker jeans creates a more chic feel than lighter washes do and I love the way black works, specifically, like in your look here.

When I initially saw the first photo in the post, I though you cut your hair! It would look super cute if you were to cut it into a bob 😉 I hope you’re having a wonderful day so far, beauty, and thank so much for sharing your helpful tips! Sending lots of love your way!

    1. Thank you so much, beauty! I tried cutting my hair short once and it did not look good at all! I honestly wish I could rock short hair (because I think short hair is so chic/cute) but the shape of my face just doesn’t agree with it:(. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!
