Product Review: Bare Minerals BareSkin Foundation

I posted to Instagram two months ago that I recently purchased the Bare Minerals BareSkin foundation. I have been using this product for awhile now and thought I should do a product review on it for you all:)! So here it goes…

I really love this product. This BareSkin foundation is coconut water based, which is amazing for your skin, and has elements of vitamin C and lilac. With these three ingredients alone the product is going to do WONDERS for you skin, and I could tell an improvement in my skin after about three weeks. I don’t know if this is due to using this amazing foundation, but I would like to think it was. The foundation also has SPF 20 so your face is protected from harmful UV rays throughout the day (to see my favorite facial sunscreen for further protection click on this link here).

When I first purchased the foundation the Sephora consultant told me I should also buy the brush that comes with the foundation. I thought this was just a way for Bare Minerals to make an extra dollar, so I politely told her no thank you. This was a big mistake on my part. Since this foundation is coconut water based the consistency of the foundation is thinner than any other product I’ve ever used. This was not a good or bad thing to me, just different from what I was used to. The brush that comes with the BareSkin dips in the middle so when you put the foundation into the brush, the brush holds the foundation, and then you buffer and apply to your face. Without this brush my foundation would slide right off of my “normal” foundation brush. The end result was not glamorous and did not look good, nor did it spread easily over my face.

As soon as I bought the brush, the product was amazing! I love how you can build to the coverage you want ranging from light to full. I usually use about three to five drops to give myself light to medium coverage (depends on what my skin looks like that day). After I put the foundation on my skin looks luminous and glows (I am not kidding!). BareSkin is so lightweight I can barely tell I have product on my face, and to me, I love when I product enables that feeling. The Sephora consultant told me to place my hands over my face after I apply the foundation and the heat from your hands allows the product to sink into the skin so you are able to see the full affect of the foundation (how cool is that?!). Afterword you will be able to tell if you need to use more product or not- this depends on the look you want to achieve.

Overall, I love this product and how it isn’t made with parabens, silicon, or oils. This foundation is also SUPER affordable and totally within my budget. BareSkin makes my skin look naturally radiant, and I will definitely buy another bottle! Do any of you have this product and love it as much as I do?! Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you so much for reading!

xx Julianna
