Product Review: Mineral Creme

/April 21, 2015

My mom always taught me to invest in great make-up (if I choose to wear it) and skin products. She told me to (literally) put my best face forward and take care of the skin I have. I’ve never forgotten about this mother-daughter lesson and ensure I use products that contain multiple benefits to my skin.

I wear sunscreen for every season, but I am especially cautious of taking care of my skin during the spring and summer. Usually my tinted moisturizer or foundation as at least SPF 15, but last year I decided to add a sunscreen specifically targeting my face to my beauty regimen. I knew the delicate skin (especially around my eyes) needed a little extra attention so I went to Sephora (my favorite cosmetics store!). I looked at all the brands available in the skin care section, but I didn’t come across anything  jumping out at me. Suddenly, after talking to a Sephora rep she showed me MD Solar Sciences Mineral Creme Broad Spectrum SPF 50. I have never heard of this brand before but this product was more than just a sunscreen. Not only did it help block harmful UV rays, but there is also a blend of antioxidants (which further helps prevent AND repair damaged skin). MD Solar Sciences created this product specifically for women with acne or rosacea prone skin. I have combination skin and the oily areas are prone to breakouts so I really loved this aspect of the product. This sunscreen doesn’t contain parabens (I never put anything on my body which contains this ingredient), and among many of the other benefits I just mentioned, I tried it out!

I LOVE this product. I can’t say enough great things about it. This sunscreen went on smooth and didn’t leave a chalky white film over my skin. This mineral creme blended right in (the Sephora rep even said this product is also used as a primer for some women- how great is that?!). I can honestly say I didn’t burn at all when using this product and my skin looked undamaged throughout summer. This little bottle also lasted me about five months- yes, five! You only need a dime sized amount (if that) and it covers your entire face. You can add a BB or CC cream or foundation on right afterwards and it won’t change the consistency of your additional products. I highly suggest you incorporate this little bottle into your summer routine!

Thanks so much for reading!

  1. […] I really love this product. This BareSkin foundation is coconut water based, which is amazing for your skin, and has elements of vitamin C and lilac. With these three ingredients alone the product is going to do WONDERS for you skin, and I could tell an improvement in my skin after about three weeks. I don’t know if this is due to using this amazing foundation, but I would like to think it was. The foundation also has SPF 20 so your face is protected from harmful UV rays throughout the day (to see my favorite facial sunscreen for further protection click on this link here). […]
