TREND ALERT: French Girl Style Made Easy

Hello, gorgeous! Thank you so much for stopping by Blush & Camo today. I’m so glad you did because today I’m sharing a serious #trend I’ve noticed PLUS how you can incorporate this trend into your outfits to instantly elevate any outfit you are wearing… totally not kidding.

The trend I am talking about is the delicate scarf tied loosely around your neck!  At first I was skeptical about fashion’s latest obsession, but as I kept seeing this look appearing I decided I wanted to try it and I loved it! The scarf gave such a unique element to my outfit. I felt very Parisian and sophisticated by simply adding this scarf (always an added bonus!).

Interested in how you can also achieve this look?! Follow these simple style tips to add some Parisian vibes into your next outfit!

STICK WITH FIGURE HUGGING PIECES

For this look I recommend wearing more figure hugging items such as skinny jeans (like in my look here) or pencil skirts because these pieces are chic and tailored to your body so it looks very sophisticated.

BONUS STYLE TIP: Tuck your top into your bottoms to create a very tailored and clean look. Plus, you are elongating your legs by showing them off more which is very feminine!

ADD A STATEMENT LAYER PIECE

For this styling tip I recommend your coat as your statement piece! This item doesn’t need a bold color or pattern. The silhouette or type of coat, such as the motorcycle jacket I have on in this post, is the perfect amount of statement without overwhelming the entire look!

BONUS STYLE TIP: Stick with a hip grazing length for your coat. You don’t want to wear a duster coat because when you are wearing the delicate scarf around your neck the proportions of the overall look will look off.

PICK NEUTRALS

Stick with neutrals for this look to further increase the chic factor. I decided to wear black and white to further the Parisian style I was going for:).

ADD A SCARF

This is the most obvious style tip, but also the most important, and the focal point of this whole post! Stick with a scarf made of a light material such as silk or cotton. If you use a heavier fabric the scarf won’t lay delicately like you want it to.

All you have to do is fold the scarf and tie in a knot around your neck!
