The biggest upgrade you can make is a bag that’s actually big enough.
I love one that fits towels, sunscreen, snacks, a water bottle, a book, and all the random little things that somehow end up coming with us. Bonus points if it’s easy to wipe clean after a sandy or wet day.
A Beach Tent
If you’re planning to spend more than an hour in the sun, a beach tent is a game changer. It gives you a shady spot to cool off, makes naps with little ones so much easier, and gives you a place to stash your bags without everything baking in the sun.
Solar Buddies Sunscreen Applicator
This is one of those products that makes applying sunscreen so much less messy. Just fill it with your favorite lotion sunscreen, roll it on, and you’re done. It’s especially great for kids, but honestly, I love using it myself because it makes reapplying quick and easy without getting sunscreen all over my hands.
Clear Pouch
I always keep a clear pouch inside my pool bag for all the little essentials that usually end up lost at the bottom. Think lip balm, hair ties, Band-Aids, hand sanitizer, sunscreen sticks, and anything else you want to be able to find in seconds.

Small but mighty. This little speaker doesn’t take up much room in your bag, but it makes every pool, beach, or lake day instantly more fun. It’s waterproof, easy to pack, and the battery lasts for hours—just add your favorite summer playlist.
