Welcome back to Blush & Camo!
Black Friday is right around the corner and this means lots and lots and lots of deals. There is nothing worse than Black Friday creeping up on you, looking at your bank account, and realizing the funds just aren’t there to participate in the craziness of this shopping holiday. It can also be super tempting to overspend and want to buy all the things (I know, I’ve been there!).
In today’s post I am breaking down my top tips for saving (starting today!) and how to not overspend on Black Friday! This way you, and your bank account, are happy in the weeks leading up to the holiday season.
BEST BLACK FRIDAY MONEY SAVING TIPS
CUT OUT ANY UNNECESSARY SPENDING
Chuck and I use this tip all the time when we want to really save some money for the month. We take a look at the previous month’s expenses and figure out where we can cut.
For example, instead of going out to each three times in one weekend (which really adds up!) we decide to have a fun date night at home and skip the pricey meal. I also pack my lunches to work and this has really help cut back on food expenses for the month!
Another way to cut back and save is to simply wait to purchase the items you would buy throughout the month and wait for Black Friday. There’s a really good chance that you will save money on that item anyway and will allow you to get more bang for your buck!
A great exercise is to look at where you can cut your own personal expenses and see how much money you can save! This can potentially be your Black Friday budget!
DECIDE ON YOUR BUDGET NOW
Before you find out any of the sale items make a list of all the items you want to purchase.
Then, scrub that list again. The reason you want to do this really decide in on the items you are looking for.
Once you have the list you need to come up with a budget. Do this now so you’re not tempted to overspend or add more items to your list that you don’t really need. Planning ahead and using this step could save you hundreds of dollars!
USE CASH WHEN PURCHASING ITEMS ON BLACK FRIDAY
When the big day arrives use cash to purchase all your items on Black Friday. The reason for this is because using a card is hard to conceptualize the money you are spending. Putting a hundred dollars on your card is totally different then handing someone over $100. You physically see the money and once the money is gone, so is your budget!
These are my three tried and true ways to save and stay within budget because y’all know I love fashion and Black Friday, but these tips help me stay within my budget!
