The ULTIMATE Styling Checklist for Accessories

Hello, gorgeous! Today I’m sharing the accessories checklist I use for almost every look I wear on the blog (and what I used to style today’s blog post). This checklist is simple, customizable to your style aesthetic, and will work every time! Let’s get started!

WHY A CHECKLIST

I use an accessories checklist to ensure I don’t miss any steps when accessorizing an outfit. I also rate how important the accessory category is by numbering each category 1-5. #1 is the most important whereas #5 is the least important. You can choose how you would like to rate each category based off of your own personal opinion!

You can also add more or less categories depending on your own personal style:) This checklist builds on itself. This means once I have chosen my jewelry, the handbag I opt for has to style perfectly with the jewelry. Once I’ve chosen a handbag, the belt or scarf must look great with the jewelry and handbag, etc!

THE CHECKLIST Keep in mind you do NOT need every single one of these accessories in your look. This checklist is here to hit all the highlights and jogs your brain of all the styling categories you can use to enhance your look!

1.) Jewelry- Does your outfit have a print that requires more delicate jewelry or could this look accommodate a few statement pieces?

2.) Handbag/Clutch- Do you want to mix and match colors, prints, or texture on your handbag?

3.) Hair Accessories- What kind of hairstyle would this outfit look best in? Would a hair ribbon or sparkly barrette enhance the overall look?

4.) Belts/Scarves- Does my waistline need to be accentuated? Do I want to play with varying lengths?

5.) Nail Polish- What color should I paint my nails?

6.) Finishing Touches (such as tying a scarf to a handbag, adding a pom pom keychain, or any type of small accessory that really makes the overall look pop!)- Does my overall look need any finishing touches, or are the rest of my accessories enough to complete the look?

  1. I do a mental checklist. I always have to have a necklace, earrings, bracelet, rings, and lips. I really need to work on painting my nails. You’re so good about this, and I love how you’re always incorporating a ribbon into your hair. So cute.

  4. All very pretty shades of red. The native pattern, the box in the hair, the lip the clutch the shoes, the scarf and the backdrop wall. I’m exhausted just thinking about what it took to find all this red and then style it all in on look. You’re good.
