One Skirt, Two Ways for NYE

/December 28, 2015

Hello my gorgeous Blush Babes! Today I’m sharing with you how to take one sequined skirt and pair of black pumps to create two totally different looks for New Years Eve (NYE)! Sequins are a total #mushave for NYE! I know everyone has different events they choose to attend for this special day- whether that’s more of a dressier occasion or a more casual event.

Knowing this about you gorgeous babes inspired today’s blog post! So, no matter what you are doing for NYE ,one of these looks is bound work for you!

THE FORMAL EVENT

For this look I created a more formal event outfit by adding this bow blouse (you ladies know I am all about the bows!). This top is fun, sophisticated, and blends perfectly into this look! I have found blouses, just like the one I have on here, for you to shop!

You don’t have to wear this exact blouse for this look to work. If you don’t have one of these tops, or aren’t in the market for one, then opt for a jewel toned blouse instead! Jewel tones tend to be a bit darker hued which works perfectly with the black tights and pumps. These tones also are rich in color so they add the perfect amount of elegance to this sequined skirt!

BONUS STYLE TIP: I recommend staying away from patterned tops and stick with just one color. The reason for this is because the sequined skirt is super playful and adding a pattern would make the look more busy and less sophisticated.

THE CASUAL EVENT

For this look all I did was switch my blouse to a flannel shirt and I now have a totally different feel to this outfit. I chose this flannel top because the red is super festive for the holidays and the lines of yellow loosely tie in with the sequins on the skirt!

You honestly can add ANY flannel shirt to this look and it will look amazing (this is a serious #closetshopping moment)! This look is perfect for all NYE casual events such as meeting up with friends at a bar, going to a house party with a less formal dress code, and to a more informal restaurant for dinner.

Just because you don’t have super fancy plans for NYE doesn’t mean you can’t wear sequins. Every Blush Babe needs her one night of sequined fun;)!

  2. Julianna, I hope you had a wonderful holiday! I can’t decide which look I like more and it’s amazing how simply changing a blouse can result in such strikingly different looks. I never would have thought to pair plaid with gold sequins so that look in particular is really speaking to me. It’s amazing! Beautiful either way! I hope you have a wonderful final week of 2015!
