This past weekend I drove up to the Oregon Coast to watch Chuck graduate from a military school! His graduation was at 0800 in the morning, and he had to stay in barracks, so I decided to wake up the morning of to drive down and see him. I curled my hair the night before and slept in bobby pin curls (Not as uncomfortable as it sounds. I thought the experience would be much worse!). I woke up Saturday morning at 0350, pulled all my hair pins out, made some coffee, and hit the road. I’m usually not a fan of road trips (especially by myself) but this drive was beautiful! I had NO idea Oregon was so rustic and serene. I also drove through Astoria where The Goonies and Kindergarten Cop was filmed! I stopped at a random gas station about 20 miles from the military base (I wanted to make sure I didn’t run into traffic before I got ready) to put on some makeup and fix my hair, then I and headed over to the graduation ceremony!

After a few hours I made it to graduation to pin on Chuck’s Pathfinder badge and we soon set off to find some breakfast (I was super hungry)! We drove over to Seaside which is a town right on the beach and you could smell the salt water in the air. They had so many cute shops and we weaved in and out of most of them. Then, we made it to the beach! While we were there a beach soccer tournament was going on and they had at least twenty games of soccer happening at once. The teams were playing barefoot and a DJ was playing some music. It was a pretty cool sight to see! Chuck and I didn’t want to interfere with the games so we found a quiet corner of the beach, started taking pics, and attempted to wade into the water (it was SO cold!).

After a few hours we were both exhausted after all the activity so we decided to call it a day and start the journey home. I really loved the Oregon Coast and we have plans to come back sometime this summer! Thank you so much for reading!
